Air Intake
Room air is pulled in through a pre-filter fitted at the rear of the pressure module. The pre-filter traps dust particles before they travel further.

SYSTEM WORKING PRINCIPLE
A pressure module is a compact, self-contained air filtration unit that is fitted into a wall or window opening. It regulates air pressure and filters airborne particles in a cleanroom, operation theatre, isolation ward, or any controlled workspace.
The pressure module operates on the basic principle of a laminar airflow unit, but it is smaller and mounted on a wall.
Room air is pulled in through a pre-filter fitted at the rear of the pressure module. The pre-filter traps dust particles before they travel further.
A blower assembly pulls the air through the pressure module at a controlled speed.
The air then passes through a HEPA filter chamber in the pressure module. Submicron particles are removed. The system releases ultra-clean filtered air back into the room.
A positive pressure module pushes filtered air into the room at a pressure higher than the surrounding area, so untreated or contaminated air cannot enter. A negative pressure module does the opposite. The Negative Pressure Module extracts air from the room and expels it, keeping pressure lower than the surroundings so infectious or hazardous air does not leak outward. This is why negative pressure modules are common in isolation rooms and biosafety areas.
Many units connect to a condenser or cooling coil to keep circulating air within a working range.
CONFIGURATION GUIDE
Choosing between a Positive Pressure Module and a Negative Pressure Module really comes down to one question: does your facility need to keep contaminants out of a room, or keep them contained inside it?
Here is a quick side-by-side comparison to help you decide.
| Parameter | Positive Pressure Module | Negative Pressure Module |
|---|---|---|
| Airflow direction | Pushes filtered air into the room | Extracts air out of the room |
| Pressure relative to surroundings | Higher than the adjacent area | Lower than the adjacent area |
| Primary purpose | Keeps external contaminants out | Contains internal contaminants |
| Typical applications | Operation theatres, ICUs, pharma cleanrooms, sterile stores | Isolation wards, infectious disease rooms, biosafety labs, quarantine zones |
| Contamination risk managed | Airborne particles or pathogens entering the room | Airborne particles or pathogens escaping the room |
| Filtration | Pre-filter plus HEPA filter (99.97% efficiency) | Pre-filter plus HEPA filter (99.97% efficiency) |
| Common industries | Hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics cleanrooms | Hospitals, infectious disease units, research labs, biosafety facilities |
| Room classification role | Maintains a higher cleanliness class, such as ISO Class 7 or 8 | Maintains containment integrity for hazardous or infectious zones |
| Automation grade | Automatic or manual | Automatic or manual |

WHY AIRTEC SOLUTIONS
HEPA-filtered air brings down airborne particle count significantly.
Directional airflow, positive or negative, limits cross-contamination between zones.
Fits into a wall or window opening, so you do not need a full ducted AHU system.
The GI powder-coated body resists corrosion and holds up over years of use.
A balanced blower and filter design keeps pressure differentials stable.
Airflow (CFM) and filtration grade are tailored to your room size and use case.

FAQ
A positive pressure module pushes filtered air into a room to keep air and contaminants from entering. This helps maintain an environment, which is why it is often used in operation theatres and clean zones. A negative pressure module pulls air out of a room to prevent internal air from escaping, making it suitable for isolation rooms and areas where infectious diseases are managed.
Pressure modules are used in sectors where clean air and controlled airflow are essential, including hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturing units, diagnostic labs, biosafety labs and cleanrooms for precision electronics. Any place that needs to control particles or prevent contamination relies on these systems.
Yes. We can adjust the airflow capacity in CFM, the filter type, the physical dimensions and the level of automation based on the room's air change rate (ACH) and how the space will be used.
Our pressure modules use HEPA filters rated at 99.97% efficiency. This means they can capture particles as small as 0.3 microns, supporting clean and safe air in controlled environments.
Yes. As a manufacturer based in Pune, we install both positive and negative pressure modules throughout Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Aurangabad. We also offer on-site installation and ongoing maintenance support.
